An Exclusive NYC - Insider Tip: The City Lights Experience

This incredible experience begins at Linden Municipal Airport (in Linden, NJ). Helicopter Flight Services is the ONLY helicopter tour operator in the New York area that has permission to fly at night and directly over Manhattan. The tour takes 25-30 minutes and can take place on Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays from 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM.

The journey begins by flying past Newark International Airport towards Manhattan. During the trip, you will see views of the water surrounding New York and will have jaw dropping sights of the illuminated Statue of Liberty, only before viewing the skyscrapers of the financial district. You will see One World Trade Center and the 9/11 Memorial both standing strong and even increasingly impressive at night. The route continues, flying north along the Hudson River where guests will catch a glimpse the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Hudson Yards, Chelsea, The West Village, Soho, Tribeca and more spectacular places in Manhattan.

There are unique photo opportunities over Central Park which can be taken on route flying directly over New York City. Central Park, Rockefeller Center and the bright lights of Times Square can be seen perfectly and offer awesome views and Instagram worthy pictures! After passing north of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the helicopter will head south over the East River passing above Roosevelt Island, making a full circle around Upper Manhattan.

You will fly in high quality 6-passenger Bell 407 helicopters or 7-passenger high-visibility Airbus EC130T2 helicopters. These helicopters will bring you to see the lit up Manhattan skyline and take in the most famous NYC skyscrapers up close!

The helicopter heads south along the East River and offers an excellent view of the Empire State Building. To the other side an ocean of lights from Brooklyn and Queens can be seen with the Billy Jean King US Tennis Center, Citi Field and LaGuardia Airport. Beautiful views while passing over the Manhattan, Williamsburg and Brooklyn Bridges are also included. One last view of the Statue of Liberty will finish the City Lights Experience before returning to New Jersey and Linden Airport.
